Every tool/method in this guide has been rated according to how time consuming, how expensive, how much knowledge is necessary, and how actively your users will be engaged in the activity. The ratings will use the following symbols.
Indicates the amount of time an activity takes.
Indicates the relative expense of an activity

How to Use this Toolbox
If you're anything like we were when we started practicing User Experience (UX) Design, you're not an expert and you have budget, time or other constraints to consider. We put together this toolbox to show librarians who are new to UX that these methods and tools are accessible to beginners. Use the rating system (at left) to determine if a tool will work for you.
Who We Are
We are two librarians at a small graduate health sciences school who have gradually integrated UX design and research into our services. After two years of using various UX tools and methods, we wanted to package our experience in a way that could help other librarians get started with UX design.
