What's the IHP's Role in Health Equity - A Community Excellence Course is the work of the
Office of Mission, Vision, and Community Excellence
at the MGH Institute of Health Professions
Through the CEC course, we are building foundational knowledge for all incoming IHP students and the broader IHP community.
Every semester, CEC 101 includes readings, discussion, and a speaker panel that take a deeper diver into a dimension of health equity as it relates to another societal issue. The goals of this program is to advance capacity in the Health Equity and Community Excellence Course Competencies for all participants.

The purpose of the Health Equity and Community Excellence (HECE) Core Competencies are to hold ourselves accountable to the MGH Institute's mission and commitment to health equity and community excellence.
The HECE Core Competencies provide a framework for groups and individuals to outline skills related to HECE principles that are pertinent to setting within healthcare and higher education.
