If you want to start searching library databases for content regarding Latinx/Hispanic communities, you can use the following terms to get started:
The PubMed standardized medical subject heading (MeSH) term for Latino/Hispanic people is "Hispanic or Latino"[Mesh]; this should be used for a "person of Cuban, Mexican, Puerto Rican, South or Central American, or other Spanish culture or origin, regardless of race" (according to PubMed).
Please note: “Race and ethnicity terms, as used in the federal government, are self-identified social construct and may include terms outdated and offensive in MeSH to assist users who are interested in retrieving comprehensive search results for studies such as in longitudinal studies.” - PubMed
An example search string that you could use could be: ("Hispanic or Latino"[Mesh]) AND mental health
In CINAHL, you can try (MH "Hispanic Americans"); if you want to get more specific, you can also try to search for other specific demonyms (like Mexican Americans or Brazilians, etc.)
An example search string that you could use could be: (MH "Hispanic Americans"+) AND childrens health
Search filters (aka search hedges) are pre-drafted lists of terms to help create a focused search strategy. They’re here to help you save time and energy. Simply copy and paste these terms into your search strategy.
Below is an example of a search hedge that was created by the Medical Library Association's (MLA) Latinx Caucus:
